ਹਮ ਸਰਿ ਦੀਨੁ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਨ ਤੁਮ ਸਰਿ ਅਬ ਪਤੀਆਰੁ ਕਿਆ ਕੀਜੈ ॥
हम सरि दीनु दइआलु न तुम सरि अब पतीआरु किआ कीजै ॥
Ham sar ḏīn ḏa▫i▫āl na ṯum sar ab paṯī▫ār ki▫ā kījai.
There is none as forlorn as I am, and none as Compassionate as You; what need is there to test us now?
ਬਚਨੀ ਤੋਰ ਮੋਰ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨੈ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਪੂਰਨੁ ਦੀਜੈ ॥੧॥

ਬਹੁਤ ਜਨਮ ਬਿਛੁਰੇ ਥੇ ਮਾਧਉ ਇਹੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰੇ ਲੇਖੇ ॥
बहुत जनम बिछुरे थे माधउ इहु जनमु तुम्हारे लेखे ॥
Bahuṯ janam bicẖẖure the māḏẖa▫o ih janam ṯumĥāre lekẖe.
For so many incarnations, I have been separated from You, Lord; I dedicate this life to You.

ਹਮ ਸਰਿ ਦੀਨੁ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਨ ਤੁਮ ਸਰਿ ਅਬ ਪਤੀਆਰੁ ਕਿਆ ਕੀਜੈ ॥ ਬਚਨੀ ਤੋਰ ਮੋਰ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨੈ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਪੂਰਨੁ ਦੀਜੈ ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਤੁਲ ਕੋਈ ਗਰੀਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਤੁਲ ਕੋਈ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ, ਹੁਣ, ਹੋਰ ਅਜ਼ਮਾਇਸ਼ ਕੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਹੈ? ਮੈਨੂੰ, ਆਪਣੇ ਗੋਲੇ ਨੂੰ, ਇਹ ਪੂਰਣਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨ ਕਰੇ।
ਹਮ ਸਰਿ = ਮੇਰੇ ਵਰਗਾ। ਸਰਿ = ਵਰਗਾ, ਬਰਾਬਰ ਦਾ। ਦੀਨੁ = ਨਿਮਾਣਾ, ਕੰਗਾਲ। ਅਬ = ਹੁਣ। ਪਤੀਆਰੁ = (ਹੋਰ) ਪਰਤਾਵਾ। ਕਿਆ ਕੀਜੈ = ਕੀਹ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੋਇਆ? ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ। ਬਚਨੀ ਤੋਰ = ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰ ਕੇ। ਮੋਰ = ਮੇਰਾ। ਮਾਨੈ = ਮੰਨ ਜਾਏ, ਪਤੀਜ ਜਾਏ। ਪੂਰਨ = ਪੂਰਨ ਭਰੋਸਾ।੧।
(ਹੇ ਮਾਧੋ!) ਮੇਰੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਿਮਾਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਤੇ, ਤੇਰੇ, ਵਰਗਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ, (ਮੇਰੀ ਕੰਗਾਲਤਾ ਦਾ) ਹੁਣ ਹੋਰ ਪਰਤਾਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ। (ਹੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਰਾਮ!) ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਿਦਕ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਕਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਚ ਜਾਇਆ ਕਰੇ।੧।
ਹਉ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ਰਮਈਆ ਕਾਰਨੇ ॥ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਵਨ ਅਬੋਲ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਮੈਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ, ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਹਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਉਤੋਂ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਕਿਸ ਵਜ੍ਹਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਚੁਪ-ਚਾਪ ਹੈਂ? ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
ਰਮਈਆ ਕਾਰਨੇ = ਸੋਹਣੇ ਰਾਮ ਤੋਂ। ਕਵਨ = ਕਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ? ਅਬੋਲ = ਨਹੀਂ ਬੋਲਦਾ।ਰਹਾਉ।
ਹੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਰਾਮ! ਮੈਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ; ਤੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਗੱਲੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੋਲਦਾ?।ਰਹਾਉ।
ਬਹੁਤ ਜਨਮ ਬਿਛੁਰੇ ਥੇ ਮਾਧਉ ਇਹੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰੇ ਲੇਖੇ ॥ ਕਹਿ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਆਸ ਲਗਿ ਜੀਵਉ ਚਿਰ ਭਇਓ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਖੇ ॥੨॥੧॥
ਮੈਂ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵਿਛੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਾਂ, ਹੇ ਸਾਈਂ! ਇਹ ਜੀਵਨ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਮਰਪਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਉਮੈਦ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਬਹੁਤ ਸਮਾਂ ਬੀਤ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਦ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਸੀ।
ਮਾਧਉ = ਹੇ ਮਾਧੋ! ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰੇ ਲੇਖੇ = (ਭਾਵ,) ਤੇਰੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਬੀਤੇ। ਕਹਿ = ਕਹੇ, ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।
ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-ਹੇ ਮਾਧੋ! ਕਈ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਵਿਛੁੜਿਆ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ (ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੇਰਾ) ਇਹ ਜਨਮ ਤੇਰੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਬੀਤੇ; ਤੇਰਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਬੜਾ ਚਿਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ) ਆਸ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਜੀਊਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।੨।੧। ❁ ਭਾਵ: ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਦਰ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਅਰਦਾਸ।

ਹੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਰਾਮ! ਮੈਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ; ਤੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਗੱਲੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੋਲਦਾ?।ਰਹਾਉ।
ਬਹੁਤ ਜਨਮ ਬਿਛੁਰੇ ਥੇ ਮਾਧਉ ਇਹੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰੇ ਲੇਖੇ ॥ ਕਹਿ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਆਸ ਲਗਿ ਜੀਵਉ ਚਿਰ ਭਇਓ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਖੇ ॥੨॥੧॥
ਮੈਂ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵਿਛੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਾਂ, ਹੇ ਸਾਈਂ! ਇਹ ਜੀਵਨ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਮਰਪਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਉਮੈਦ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਬਹੁਤ ਸਮਾਂ ਬੀਤ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਦ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਸੀ।
ਮਾਧਉ = ਹੇ ਮਾਧੋ! ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰੇ ਲੇਖੇ = (ਭਾਵ,) ਤੇਰੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਬੀਤੇ। ਕਹਿ = ਕਹੇ, ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।
ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-ਹੇ ਮਾਧੋ! ਕਈ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਵਿਛੁੜਿਆ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ (ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੇਰਾ) ਇਹ ਜਨਮ ਤੇਰੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਬੀਤੇ; ਤੇਰਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਬੜਾ ਚਿਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ) ਆਸ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਜੀਊਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।੨।੧। ❁ ਭਾਵ: ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਦਰ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਅਰਦਾਸ।
